Today as many as 65 new cases were reported of Covid-19 taking the total number of cases surpassing 1000 cases and stands at 1009 in Puducherry UT.
Of the new cases reported, 62 cases are in Puducherry, 1 in Karaikal, 1 in Yanam and 1 in Mahe. While 36 of them are male and 29 are female.
Among them 11 patients are below 18 years, 8 above the age of 60 and 46 are in the age group 18 to 60 years.
At present there are 515 patients under treatment, of which 483 are in Puducherry region, 9 in Karaikal, 14 in Yanam and 9 in Mahe region.
Of the 515 active cases 328 patients are being treated at IGMC&RI, 122 at JIPMER, 31 at Covid Care Centers, 2 Puducherry residents are under treatement at Villupuram, 9 at Karaikal GH, 14 at Yanam GH and 9 at Mahe GH.
In all 480 patients have been discharged after recovery including 32 patients on Monday. So far 14 patients have died. No death case were reported in the past 48 hours.
Till now 20778 samples have been tested, of which 19324 have turned negative and the test results of 432 are awaited.
A total of 502 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours of which 65 are reported Covid positve, the infection rate being 12.9%
