07-07-2020 : Puducherry on Tuesday reported 32 new covid-19 cases, taking the overall tally to 1041 cases in Puducherry UT.
Of the new cases reported, 31 cases are in Puducherry and 1 case in Mahe. While 20 of them are male and 12 are female.
Among them 5 patients are below 18 years, 2 above the age of 60 and 25 are in the age group 18 to 60 years.
At present there are 510 patients under treatment, of which 479 are from Puducherry region, 8 in Karaikal, 14 in Yanam and 9 in Mahe region.
Of the 510 active cases 323 patients are being treated at IGMC&RI, 123 patients at JIPMER, 31 patients at Covid Care Centers, 2 Puducherry residents are under treatement at Villupuram, 8 at Karaikal GH, 14 at Yanam GH and 9 at Mahe GH.
Fatalities remained at 14 as no death was reported in the union territory in the last three days. In all, 517 patients have been discharged after recovery including 37 patients on Tuesday.
Till yesterday 21382 samples have been tested, of which 19996 have turned negative and the test results of 295 are awaited.
A total of 498 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours of which 32 turned Covid positve, the infection rate for the date being 6.4%
